A Xunta de Galicia a través da Federación Galega de Balonmán, puxo en marcha esta iniciativa coa finalidade de impulsar a igualdade e a conciliación familiar, así como de profesionalizar o sector deportivo con emprego de calidade e de fomentar a práctica gratuíta do balonmán en toda a comunidade.
Actualmente a Federación Galega de Balonmán, a través de convenio cos diferentes clubs do balonmán galego está a desenvolver máis de 300 actividades en diferentes puntos da xeografía galega, actividades que van dende o mes de xullo ao mes de novembro.
