Fantástica fin de semana para o balonmán galego, na que se certificaron os ascensos de Indupor BM Porriño e BM Culleredo á Primeira Nacional Masculina.
O primeiro en acadar o ascenso foi o Indupor BM Porriño, que chegaba a última xornada máis apurado despois da derrota do día anterior. Pero as contas daban. O equipo de Dani Benaches podía ascender se superaba ao Madrid Base Villaverde por tres goles ou máis e saíron a por todas. Moi pronto romperon o partido cunha intensa defensa que se lle atragantou ao equipo madrileño e rápidos goles á contra. Ao descanso, 20-12.
Na segunda metade, o Porriño seguiu xogando coa mesma intensidade e gañas para finalizar celebrando o ascenso en casa ante o seu público.
O adestrador Dani Benaches destacou que «era un sector moi duro, coa presión de xogar na casa, pero cunha afección de 10, conseguímolo! Chegamos ao último partido con opcións, que era o máis importante, pero o equipo estivo á altura das circunstancias e os xogadores foron capaces de centrarse en realizar o noso xogo». Ademais, Benaches quixo mandar unha mensaxe ao outro conxunto galego que acadou o ascenso: «Gustaríame mandarlle unha mensaxe de noraboa ao Culleredo e en especial a Fernando Vázquez, pola súa gran tempada».

E pouco despois vivimos o segundo ascenso, nun partido moi diferente ao do Porriño. O Culleredo chegaba ao partido con dúas vitorias, igual que o rival, o Maravillas de Madrid, polo que o vencedor acadaría o ascenso de categoría. Foi un choque tremendamente igualado, con continuos empates no marcador, principalmente na primeira metade e ao descanso se chegou cun 12-13 a favor dos visitantes.
No inicio da segunda parte, todo parecía seguir polo mesmo camiño, con distancias de un gol ou empate no marcador. Pero no minuto 37, por primeira vez, o Maravillas logrou dous tantos de vantaxe e volveu a repetir no minuto 40 (16-18). Pero o Culleredo reaccionou á perfección, con cabeza e entereza. Apertaron aínda máis en defensa e lograron darlle a volta ao marcador, primeiro para empatar (19-19, min. 45) e despois para escaparse de ata 4 goles (24-20) a falta de cinco minutos. Xa só quedaba xogar con cabeza e sen nervios para certificar unha vitoria que fixo estoupar de alegría o Tarrío.
