Despois de só dúas xornadas ligueiras, parón para disputar a primeira eliminatoria da Copa, na que o sorteo deparou un choque entre veciños en Pontevedra (a eliminatoria é a partido único). A pesar do pouco disputado ata agora, ambos clubs chegan en situacións diferentes. O Teucro coa firme intención de cambiar a mala imaxe ofrecida a pasada fin de semana en Liga ante Villa de Aranda en casa, mentres que o Cisne parece moi firme con dous bos triunfos.
O técnico do Cisne, Javier Fernández, Jabato, non oculta que será un “partido emotivo, un derbi, o primeiro oficial deste ano, aínda que tamén nos enfrontamos na Copa Galicia”. Jabato reconoce que o seu equipo está a ofrecer unha imaxe fiable neste inicio de tempada: “Chegamos a este encontro nun bo momento, pero neste tipo de partidos iso da igual”. Por iso, considera clave “estar moi metidos e non sairnos do guión. Que esas ganas, iso que te fai xogar un poquiño máis acelerado do normal, non te afecte, para poder pasar a eliminatoria, aínda que sabemos que será difícil”.
Pola súa banda, o adestrador do Teucro, Luis Montes, explicou que “dendeo emocional vai ser un partido interesante, porque un derbi sempre o é. Dende o plano estrictamente deportivo, a nós gústanos a Copa do Rei e queremos chegar o máis lonxe posible, pero temos que ser realistas, e para os dous equipos o máis importante é a Liga”. Aínda que lles encantaría avanzar na Copa, Montes afirma que hai un obxectivo máis importante: “Como equipo, encantaríanos gañar, pero o obxectivo número 1 é cambiar a imaxe do partido do sábado pasado, que non se asemella en nada o nivel que temos. É verdade que estamos lonxe do nivel que espero teñamos dentro de un ou dous meses. O equipo ten moito traballo por diante para acabar de conxuntarse, pero non estamos tan mal como amosamos o sábado”.
Do rival, o técnico do Teucro destacou que “eles teñen a vantaxe de manter o bloque, xogan prácticamente de memoria, mentres que nós estamos en fase de construcción”, pero está seguro de que non haberá sorpresas: “Os dous equipos coñecémonos moitísimo e non haberá segredos”.
