Senda que se truncaba fronte as seleccións de Madrid e Castela a Mancha, uns encontros que pese a loitar, e mostrar un bo balonmán non tiveron sorte, e en ambas as dúas rectas finais os conxuntos rivais gañaban con seguridade. As minis remataban a competeción tal e como a empezaron, con vitoria sobre a selección da Rioja e logrando así o quinto posto, un encontro que dominaron de principio a fin, destacando a intensidade defensiva que minaba ao rival e o deixabao sen opcións.
Por outro lado os rapaces comezaban tamén debutando con vitoria fronte ao conxunto autonómico da Rioja. Non tiveron tanta sorte na segunda xornada contra a Comunidade Valenciana, máis inda así había posibilidades de chegar ata as semis. Partidazo na terceira xornada contra Castela a Mancha, e pese a un comezo trabado e unha primeira parte perdida, os galegos superon darlle a volta ao marcador e acadar un oco entre os catro mellores. Tras perder as semifinais, para subir ao podium os de Menduiña terían que superar aos anfitrións. Os nosos xa sabían que non ía ser doado e así foi. Ao remate, catro goles separaron aos minis do seu último obxectivo, máis cabe destacar o fantástico papel que realizaron.
