A Federación Galega de Balonmán, xunto a outras federacións deportivas galegas, asinou un convenio de colaboración co Concello da Estrada para a utilización das instalacións deportivas, así como a creación de novas escolas e a dinamización da nosa modalidade deportiva neste concello.
Neste acto estiveron presentes o alcalde de A Estrada, José López Campos; o concelleiro de Deportes, José Ismael Pena; o presidente da Federación Galega de Balonmán, Bruno López, e representantes das federacións galegas de fútbol, rugby, badminton, baloncesto e voleibol.
Bruno López destacou a colaboración deste concello co balonmán galego: «E un Concello que aposta polo deporte, en especial polo deporte base, e con este convenio trataremos de achegar o balonmán a Estrada. Ademais, queremos destacar as facilidades que sempre nos poñen aquí para o uso das instalacións deportivas, incluso en horarios atípicos, como o domingo pola tarde, onde normalmente resulta moi complicado atopar pavillóns».
Durante a preparación das nosas seleccións para o Campionato de España de Seleccións Territoriais, A Estrada foi un dos puntos de adestramento e concentración, tanto por ser un punto estratéxico no aspecto xeográfico, como polas facilidades atopadas para a cesión das instalacións deportivas.
