Na tempada 56/57 comezou como árbitro provincial e na campaña 61-62 logrou a categoría de árbitro nacional. Foi ascendendo ata que no ano 1973 foi nomeado árbitro internacional IHF en recoñecemento a súa excepcional traxectoria. Ademais, foi directivo do Comité Nacional de Árbitros e do Comité Galego, así como membro da xunta directiva da Federación Galega de Balonmán xunto a José Luis Pérez Ouro como presidente.
